MEET THE TEAM

Hi, I’m Seb, the proprietor of Bannister’s.
I’ve been in the trade for 20 years and welcome all into the fold.
Over the years I’ve seen it all – and done it all – and bring you new age barbering based in traditional roots.

I’m a fully qualified level 3 barber. I trained at the London school of barbering achieving distinction at its highest level.

Matlock is my hometown, lived here most of my life. I’m a laid back, happy go lucky chap. I enjoy my social life with friends and family. I’m really into my sports, especially rugby. I had an opportunity to do my A levels at Sedbergh school in Cumbria. I was given a scholarship for rugby which made this possible.

At 19 I spent two years working and backpacking around Australia this gave me the chance to show off my rugby skills to the Aussies.

When I came home, I went into construction. At 24, I applied to join the navy. unfortunately due to a hereditary condition, I was unable to join.

This made me rethink my life, so decided to pick up the scissors and become a barber. I found my passion straight away, with every cut having its own unique tests and challenges. I do enjoy a good chat and getting to know new people.

As a heads up, I will be setting more time for all new clients as I want you to walk out the shop completely happy.
